RNJ's songs were different as compared to other stalwarts like Vijayanarasimha, Udayashankar, Ku.Ra.See, b'cos it sounds like more English-inspired poems.. all those songs - manase nagaleke (namma makkalu), kesira kamala songs, Naa mechida Huduga songs, Seeta songs - I like the combination of RNJ and Vijayabhaskar and many more... too good to forget...

Dear Ravi,
Better late than never, I am writing this to you. I am deeply saddened by your father's death, which was quite unexpected. You may now know this, but we had stayed with your mom and dad way back in 1969 in your house in Madras before you were born. We know them dearly. We pray god for you and your family. I will try to meet your mom when we visit India next time.

I was listening to one song your father wrote:
Guttondu Helluve Putaani Makkalle
It is filled with wise words and I can only imagine how lucky you are to have a father like that.
Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
Roopa.

It took a while to accept this news. RNJ is no longer, however, his songs are immortal. He has given some of the best classics to the kannada film industry. Songs from the movies like Bandhana, Vij Veera putra, Gejje pooje and many others are matchless. His simple lyrics pregnant with deep meaning have just invaded the hearts of kannadigas since decades. We pray let this poet, actor, director all-in-one proud kannada son be born again to entertain us with his distinctive talent.

Dear Ravi
You have done a wonderful job in creating a blog about your dear father. Your father was a great family friend of ours for many years. Now we have lost him and we cherish only his memories. He was not only a popular film writer but also a great human being. A friend, philosopher and guideto many of his associates,
May his soul rest in peace for ever. Shekar @ Leelashekar
